Fort Gay, W. Va. —  Tolsia ( 1-3 ) lost for the second week in a row this time 28-7 at Wilts Salmons field to # 17 Westside ( 3-1 ) on Friday night.

Wayne Williamson on his way for a nice gain vs Westside. Williamson scored a few plays later

The Rebels led 7-0 on a 1 yard QB sneak by Wayne Williamson and Eric Williams added the PAT with under a minute to go in the first quarter.

Tolsia held that advantage until Westside QB Travis Cook connected with Brock Smith for a 76 yard touchdown with 6:13 to go in the 3rd quarter to make the score 7-6 as the 2 point conversion failed.

The Rebels had good field position a couple times in the second half but couldn’t get much going on offense.

Westside’s Cook had a 2 yard sneak and Matt Blankenship added the 2 point run with 11:52 to go in the ballgame to make it 14-7.

Brock Smith added an 8 yard TD and Colby Vargas extra point kick was good with 7:24 to go and a 21-7 lead for Westside. Cook hit Dwight Justus for a 69 yard TD pass and Vargas added the PAT to finish the scoring.

Westside 0 0 6 22 – 28
Tolsia 7 0 0 0 – 7

Tolsia will host rival Tug Valley next Friday night.

Tolsia Head Coach Eric Crum

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Seems like every time something goes wrong our kids put their heads down and I’m not sure why. We give up a long touchdown but are still leading and you would think the game was over. Some of our kids quit and that’s not a good thing.”

“… We couldn’t get anything going on offense. Couldn’t block up front at all.”

“… If you can’t get motivated against Tug Valley I’m not sure you can get motivated.”
