Buffalo, W. Va. — Tolsia improved to 5-2 with a 50-8 road victory over Buffalo ( 3-5 ) on Friday night at Bison Field.

#13 Zach Ratliff brings down the Bison ball carrier.

After a scoreless first quarter the Rebels were pinned back deep at their own five yard line before going on a long drive that was capped off by a Robert Evans touchdown run from 4 yards out to give Tolsia a 6-0 lead with 6:49 left in the first half.

On the Rebels next drive Bray Mollette went right up the middle for an 18 yard touchdown and Luke Williamson dove across the goal line for the two point conversion and it was 14-0 Tolsia with 3:43 left in the first half.

Tolsia only needed three plays and :33 seconds to extend their lead in the third quarter when Evans went 14 yards to pay dirt to make it 20-0.

After forcing a Bison punt Evans fielded the ball near midfield and took it to the house for a touchdown and Williamson added the two point conversion for a 28-0 lead with 6:24 left in the third.

Just two minutes later Williamson scampered in for a 16 yard touchdown and Dakota Blackburn added the two point conversion to make it 36-0 and start the running clock.

Williamson would add another touchdown this time from 10 yards out and Blackburn once again went in for the two point play and it was 44-0 Rebels.

Buffalo scored with 3:56 left in the game to avoid the shutout on a quarterback bootleg by Caiden Craig to make it 44-6.

On the ensuing kickoff Greyson Golden scooped up the loose ball and went untouched for a 65 yard touchdown and it was 50-6 with 3:40 left in the game.

Buffalo drove down the field on the next possession and fumbled into the end zone and Tolsia picked up the fumble and tried to return it but was tackled and it was ruled a safety to set the final score of 50-8.

Evans was the leading rusher with 165 yards on 22 carries, Williamson also topped the century with 109 yards on 10 attempts, Bray Mollette 31 yards on 4 carries, Dakota Blackburn 3 carries for 16 yards, John Jarrell had 2 carries for 13 yards.

Williamson was also 4 of 6 for 105 yards through the air.

On defense Jesse Jarrell recovered two fumbles and Evans picked off a pass. Dylan Stroud was the leading tackler with seven.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… We told them this week that the playoffs begin with Buffalo. A bunch of teams are right together from 12 to 20 in the rankings and this was a big one for us points wise.”

“… We came out a little flat early with some costly penalties and turnovers but once we got going it was a site to see. We have done everything we can to get them going early but that third quarter was a thing of beauty.”

“… We will be glad to get back home next week for homecoming against Hurley and we hope to see a big crowd to see these boys play.”
