PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING UNCLAIMED PROPERTIES IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

First and Foremost, I would like to thank Allison Ball for taking the initiative to contact my office and making the trip to my office to meet and discuss the unclaimed properties in Lawrence County along with providing my office the list of unclaimed properties valued at $500.00 and over.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky Office of the State Treasurer, Allison Ball, in a joint effort with Lawrence County Judge Executive Office feel it is our responsibility to return every possible item of unclaimed property to the rightful owners.  As an elected official for the people of Lawrence County and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Mrs. Ball and I are vested in reuniting these Kentuckians with their property.

There are a few ways to get information about the unclaimed properties.  First, an individual can visit https://treasury.ky.gov/unclaimedproperty to search for Unclaimed Property. Kentucky’s Unclaimed Property Fund is managed through Missing Money, a national database of unclaimed property. Missing Money is a partnership between the Kentucky State Treasury, The National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators. This will redirect the individual to www.missingmoney.com to start your search. Begin by filling out your name or business name and clicking “Search.”

Second, you can contact the Office of the State Treasurer Unclaimed Property Division by phone at (800) 465-4722 or email unclaimed.property@ky.gov.

Last, if you have any questions regarding this unclaimed property, you can contact the Lawrence County Judge Executive Office at (606) 638-4102, option 4. Currently our office has a list of unclaimed property in Lawrence County valued at $500.00 and over.  My staff can take your name and cross reference the list to see if there is any property listed for yourself, heir or business.

Again, I would like to take the opportunity to reiterate our thanks to our State Treasurer, Allison Ball, for bringing this unclaimed property to our attention and providing the assistance to reunite that property with its rightful owner.

–Judge/Executive Phillip Carter

This is not new information for many of us… Every year, the State Treasurers Office has notified Kentucky citizens about this program and this website…

I’m just surprised that this is “new” info to this administration….
