President/ CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is Louisa Rotary speaker

 Louisa Rotary regular weekly meeting

Jacob ColleyRotary held its weekly meeting on Thursday, September 29th. The scheduled speaker this week was Jacob Colley, President/ CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He has been a speaker several times at the Rotary meetings and this week he spoke about some upcoming events and also some recent grants aimed to help Lawrence County.

Some upcoming events are a Membership Luncheon featuring U.S. Mitch McConnell on October 4th from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30. The luncheon takes place at the Hilton Garden Inn, Pikeville Ky and a Strategic Sales Success Seminar with Shari Pash on October 12th.

Mr. Colley also talked about 3 main projects that they are working on here in Lawrence County.

(1) Grants, having approximately $270,000 going to businesses in this area.

(2) Projects at Lawrence County High School 

(3) Work ready community to help young adults exiting High School, encouraging them to be ready for the workforce.

After asking for any questions from the audience, the meeting was adjourned until next week.
