Stanton, Ky. — Talon Pollack threw four touchdown passes to lead Lawrence Co. ( 6-2 ) to a 36-0 District victory over Powell Co. ( 1-7 ) Friday night.

On the Bulldogs first play from scrimmage Pollack connected with Carlo Chicko for 54 yard touchdown and it was 6-0.

On the Dawgs second play from scrimmage Pollack hit Dalton Runyons coming across the middle and Runyons took it 91 yards to the house and Eli Fletcher added the two point conversion run and it was 14-0 with under a minute left in the first quarter.

In the middle of the second quarter Pollack and Chicko hooked up again this time on a 17 yard touchdown and Cody Crum added the two conversion for a 22-0 Bulldog lead.

Early in the third quarter Pollack tossed his fourth touchdown of the game a 36 yard strike to Kaden Johnson and Brayden Queen booted the PAT and it was 29-0 Lawrence Co.

Caven Williams cruised in from 17 yards out and Queen tacked on the PAT to set the final score of 36-0 in the third quarter.

Pollack went 9 of 18 through the air for 215 yards and four scored, Luke Fetherolf completed 3 of 4 passes for 17 yards.

Dalton Runyons caught three passes for 98 yards, Carlo Chicko hauled in four passes for 81 yards, Kaden Johnson one catch for 36 yards, Andrew Ratcliffe one catch for 10 yards, Abner Collinsworth two receptions for 9 yards, Braxton Davis one catch as well.

On the ground the Dawgs were led by Caven Williams with 39 yards on four attempts, Abner Collinsworth carried it one time for 26 yards, Cody Crum four for 19 yards, Colbie Prince three rushes for 16 yards, Andrew Ratcliffe one carry for 10 yards, William McDavid three for 10 yards, Dalton Runyons one for 1 yard.

Lawrence Co. finished 3-1 in District 8 play which should be good enough for the #2 seed and a home playoff game in the first round of the playoffs.

The Bulldogs will host Boyd Co. ( 4-4 ) next Friday night.

The Pirates will travel to Belfry ( 5-3 )  to close out District 8 play.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Alan Short

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Very pleased with the way we played tonight in all three phases. Proud of our team for taking a long bus trip and producing. It was an interesting environment for a high school football game. We were very proud that our guys performed and created their own excitement. “

“… The win tonight secures a home playoff game. We should know more about the opponent after next week.”

“… Our staff is proud that our team continues to come to work everyday and get better. We still have room to grow, but really excited to be in the position we are in.”

“… Big game next week with Boyd County coming to town. They are very good and we will have to have another great week of prep.”
