Officials in two Levisa area counties are asking for the public’s assistance in finding missing persons
A Martin County woman and a Magoffin County man have been missing for a month and police as well as family members are searching for answers. The two cases are not connected except they represent a rare event in the east Kentucky region.
INEZ WOMAN NOT HEARD FROM SINCE LABOR DAY WEEKEND
The Martin County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the need for the public’s help locating a woman who’s been missing for nearly a month now.
Jennifer Wallis Dunlow, whose age was not given by the sheriff’s office, is from the Inez city area. She has not been heard from or has been seen by relatives since the Labor Day holiday weekend, according to police officials.
The daughter of Jennifer Wallis Dunlow reported to the sheriff’s office that the last time she talked to her mother was on September 4, and that Dunlow was in Logan, West Virginia at that time.
It is unclear what, if any, efforts are being made by various local law enforcement agencies in the Logan County, West Virginia area, in regards to locating the whereabouts of Jennifer Wallis Dunlow.
Jennifer Wallis Dunlow is described by deputies as being 5 foot-4 inches tall, and that she has blue eyes and brown hair.

48 year-old Scott Sandifer missing since September 11
SALYERSVILLE – The family of a Magoffin County man reported him missing earlier this month.
Scott Standifer, 48, of Salyersville, was reported missing on September 11, to Kentucky State Police Post 13, in Hazard, Kentucky. According to his sister, Mary Beth Standifer, no one has heard from him since August 28.
Standifer has brown and gray hair, blue eyes, is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, and 240 pounds. He drives a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado Z71, pewter in color. He is a former employee of Rumpke.
“If any of my prayers and wishes were to come true, he will be found soon,” Mary Beth Standifer posted on Facebook on September 27 in a post that has been shared over 600 times. “If you do see him, tell him his family loves and misses him and we want to hug him soon.”
KSP Post 13 Detective Jeff Browning said the case is currently under investigation by KSP Trooper Cory Jones. Browning said after the family reported Standifer missing on September 11, later that evening his daughter called Post 13 and reported that someone had contacted her, claiming to have seen him in Salyersville that same day, driving his pickup truck.
Detective Browning said Trooper Jones is also working the death investigation of Scott Standifer’s father, Jack Standifer, age 74, of Happy, Kentucky, who passed away on September 10. Jack Standifer’s death has been ruled natural causes, pending toxicology reports, Browning said.
Reportedly, the family reported Scott Standifer as missing after they tried to contact him about the death of his father and were unable to find him.
