Philip W. Derr, 22, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Phillip was born August 29, 1997 in Columbus, OH to Debbie Bartley and Philip Derr. Philip was a 2016 graduate of Lawrence County High School and a security guard at Three Rivers Medical Center. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was preceded in death by his nephew Elijah Frazier. 

Philip is survived by his parents; stepfather Michael Horn; grandparents Cindy and Woody Blackburn, Linda Horn, Fred Johnson, and Jean Derr; siblings Madison Derr, Brandon Davis, Blazie Fowler, Michael Horn, Mikka Horn, Matthew Derr, and Dana Messer; niece Aurora Frazier; nephew Isiah Shannon; “Special Grandparents” Jeanette and Randy Marcum; and best friends Anthony Dewolf and Dakota Shortridge. 

The family requests everyone wear their Pittsburgh Steelers clothing to the funeral to honor Philip. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM at New Friendship United Baptist Church with Brother Martin Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Tuesday, October 8, 2019 after 6:00 PM until time of services Thursday at New Friendship United Baptist Church. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Young Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. 

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Derr and his family.
