On Friday May 20, 2022 The LCHS Senior Class of 2022 graduated at 7PM inside the gymnasium. There was a large crowd in attendance inside and outside as LCHS doors opened around 6PM.
When Graduation started at 7PM LCHS Officials and teachers involved with Graduation 2022 filed into the gymnasium with the Senior Class of ’22 arriving into the gymnasium for the last time as students. The Lawrence County Board of Education Members present were, chairman Heath Preston, James See, Garnett Skaggs, Barb Robinson and Maddlene Roberts.
LCHS Principal Christy Moore welcomed everyone to the ceremony then LCHS Supt. Dr. Robbie Fletcher spoke, he said, “I’m blessed to serve the students at Lawrence County Schools System as Superintendent,” and welcomed everyone to graduation.
Next the Guest Speaker Gerad Parker was asked to come forward with the commencement address at last night’s ceremony.
Parker is a former football star for LCHS and UK. He has been named tight ends coach at Notre Dame this season. His career is highlighted by his coaching abilities at a lot of well-known colleges and schools throughout the USA.
Parker’s message to the LCHS Senior Class of 2022 was that he has the same respect for LCHS because he also graduated from LCHS Class of 2000 and wore the same cap and gown 22 years ago.
Parker asked the crowd, “Do you remember who spoke at your graduation?”
He said “You’re not going to remember who spoke at your graduation, let’s be real, you’re not going to remember me so, Please, indulge me for 12-15 minutes because you’re not going to remember what I say anyway!”
Parker said that Seniors will be asked, “Where is Louisa?” and he said you will always need to include the “Bird House” with any directions to Louisa Kentucky.
Parker said “Hard Work” was needed and made several statements and had the crowd say “Work” when he finished his statements. “Work is the best thing for mental and physical afflictions,” Parker said.
Then the Seniors of 2022 made their way to the stage to receive their diplomas and a long stem red rose. After all 155 or so seniors received their diplomas, LCHS Senior William Copley gave the final prayer before All Seniors threw their caps in the air. All Seniors Class of 2022, are now going out into the real world to attend colleges, technical schools or going into the workforce.
Good Luck to all the “Senior’s Class of 2022” you are now ready to start living the best life you can live! We are All so proud of you!!

Parker graduated well before 2008. Hire a proof reader and fact checker, or a competent reporter.
