MARK,
Hey my girl goes to Lawrence County high school her in class with no air conditioning been that way since the 1st day of school In three classes Botkins computer class, Thompson computer class, and Adam’s nursing class.
All they want to do is sports not fix anything at high school just like the grade school down town I guess next they will be wanting a new high school.

Danny Ramey

I be at the next one (BOE meeting)

This is how hot them room is at the high school.

Them kids send me this 2 29 today.

This one of her classes.

I told her not go in them hot rooms.

Danny Ramey

PS…Should go down to one of the ballflelds and get air conditioning out of them dressing room.

Fletcher was contacted for comment on the AC problems and here is what he said:

“…As for AC, we have some units that are not working.  I signed an emergency PO to get the portable units (out of Huntington) tomorrow (Wednesday) because the parts to fix some units have been on back order for months.  Hopefully, all classes will be rolling tomorrow.  If not, principals should move kids around to accommodate.   We definitely want to make sure everything is good, especially as it gets even hotter this week.

Dr. Robbie Fletcher

Superintendent
Lawrence County Schools

DID THEY GET IT FIXED? 81 DEGREES IN SOME CLASSROOMS, RAMEY SAYS

You (Lazerman) sent
Did they get the mobile units today?

Danny

Should have put it in news that they don’t have parts.
Hang I go ask my girl (about AC fix)
She said ‘no’

Looks like Fletcher just threw the principals under the bus.

Lawrence Countians do not want to spend precious money on the children. No school repairs allowed!

Joey in 2022 Lawrence county schools collected $45,373,629 from Local, State, and Federal taxes
Page 10. Looks to me that’s a lot of money.

Oh, so you’re saying all that money went into savings because it costs nothing to run a county school system? Hey, that’s great!

        • KAG says:

Joey didn’t say that try to keep up.
“Lawrence Countains do not want to spend precious money on the children. No school repairs allowed!”
If you think over $45 million is not enough money to keep the schools up you should donate some more of your precious money to them.

I’m 56 and survived going to school on hot days. I’m a walking, talking miracle!

The message from that parent is the perfect example why our schools need better funding. Good lord, I thought I was having a stroke trying to read it. Good job Mark on being able to decipher it.

It’s because Robbie Fletcher had the maitance crews working on his turf field and not doing the jobs they needed to be focusing on. Fletcher is a joke and needs to be replaced. When u have that many workers resign at 1 time it’s the leadership fault. The cooks deserved a raise so let’s take it out of his.pay and give it to them!! Don’t fall for a wolf in sheep clothes!!

    • Joe C says:

Maintenance had nothing to do with putting down that turf.

      • Worried parent says:

Not true!! I know for a fact that electric was done by staff and pulled off their normal jobs and HVAC was one of them.

  5. Dave says:

Oh but look at that purty football field and that purty sports complex.
Money for frills but not for learning!!

{Censored}. Phil Carter wouldn’t allow {Censored} like that to go on. Carter for superintendent! By Golly

    • YouraJoke :) says:

Seriously? Phil carter is the worst person for that job! Don’t you know he’s being looked into? He’s been pocketing county road funding money for years! Every single time he was in office! Open your eyes! 🤣

  7. Tony Clifton says:

Who cares what Danny Ramey has to say. He’s all about complaining but won’t be accountable himself. Why not run for judge executive next time Dan?

  8. Taxpayer says:

Wonder just hot it is on some of these busses? Lord forbid one to break down and kids have to sit and wait on another bus to come. But as Fletcher says “students are our top priority “ 😂😂

  9. DMB says:

I don’t have a child in school but recently worked the ReadiFest in Blaine. It was miserably hot in there. It was awful. I pray it isn’t like this now that school has started back.

I bet Danny went to LC Schools. Can’t ya tell? Why can’t people learn to even halfway type a discernible message that doesn’t require a hollermite to interoperate it???

      Interoperate? Do you mean interpret?

The comments here explain the current situation regarding our school systems…. Jesus take the wheel.

I don’t know how people understand each other in this Town. It’s like everyone has successfully removed all learned knowledge and have resorted to hand gestures and bodily noises for communication.

Reading these comments gave me a headache.

How about those busses that’s don’t have air conditioning… it’s time to get new busses with air conditioning.. spend some that’s old old money.. they don’t need to fix football field or baseball field, tennis courts. But do need to get new busses…….
