Oscar “Buck” Blankenship

1949 — 2018

 

Oscar “Buck” Blankenship, 69, of Louisa died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Buck was born April 20, 1949 in Lawrence County to the late Wayne and Agnes Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Blankenship, his son Russell Wayne “Rusty” Blankenship, and his brothers Fred Blankenship and Danny Blankenship.

Survivors include his grandson Derek Prater; sister and brother in law Debbie and Mark Burdette; and nieces and nephews Danny Lee Burdette, Michael Blankenship, Karly Harris, Taylor Blankenship, Tracy Harrison, Nate Harrison, and Tate Harrison.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Blankenship.
