Louisa, Ky. —  Lawrence Co. graduate and East Tennessee St. football signee Noah West was named the 2018-2019 Tony Curnutte Memorial Male Sportsman of the Year by the Ashland Daily Independent recently.

Former Bulldog Noah West Sportsman of the Year.

West rushed for 4,474 yards and 66 touchdowns in his three seasons as the Bulldog signal caller.

West reported to Johnson City to prepare for the upcoming football season as a Buccaneer this past weekend.

Former Bulldog and Triple A Norfolk pitcher Chandler Shepherd won this prestigious award in 2010-2011.

LC Coach Alan Short

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… Noah West being named Ashland Daily Independent Male Sportsman of the year is a major accomplishment and well deserved honor. Being blessed with this award puts him into elite company as Chandler Shepherd who received this award in 2010-2011.”

“… Noah views this award as a team accomplishment for the 2018 football season. We are very proud what Noah and our team accomplished last fall. When you have a great season with special kids, people take notice.”

“… We expect him to excel as he begins the next chapter of his life at East Tennessee State University. I know he will have a large following from Louisa/Lawrence County.”
