Louisa, KY – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Yatesville Lake invites you to participate in the Ninth Annual Spring Cleanup.

The event will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 9 a.m. until noon.

The Clean-Up is being hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in an effort to ensure environmental responsibility and to preserve the inherent beauty of the lake for all to enjoy.

Over 300,000 people visit Yatesville Lake each year to participate in a wide range of outdoor recreational activities. Keeping the lake and surrounding areas litter-free serves to benefit visitors as well as the local community, now as well as future generations. Litter will be picked up from multiple locations around the lake, including Rt. 32, Rich Creek Boat Ramp, and Arrington Branch.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to participate. Volunteers with boats are encouraged to bring them to remove trash along the shoreline that may not be easily accessible from land.

The event will begin at the Lawrence County Park, Picnic Shelter No. 3, at 9 a.m. Prior to beginning work all participants will be required to check-in, obtain directions, and participate in a short safety discussion.

Trash bags, gloves, and safety vests will be provided. Free t-shirts will be given to all registered volunteers while supplies last. Volunteers will be served a complimentary lunch at the picnic shelter at 11:30 a.m.

The lunch is provided free by local sponsors.

If you wish to participate or need additional information please contact the Yatesville Lake Project Office at 606-686-2412. You can also visit us on the internet at www.lrh.usace.army.mil.
