“Fort Gay Open House Huge Success”
Friday 8-16-19 was the Fort Gay Schools open house. The community and the churches came together today to give out free school supplies AND FOOD including bounces, hotdogs, burgers and different items for school. The kids walked from booth to booth to collect the free supplies.
Lovejoy ministries was one of the 12 booths that set up today to give away school supplies, popsicles and suckers.
Mayor Joetta Hatfield says when the churches line up with the community events. big things happen.
Principal Sherri Brewer says they are going to Focus on attendance this yr. “We have the lowest attendance in the county,” she said. “Kids cannot learn if they are not here. Students come first even before the teachers.”
