LOUISA, Ky. — Announced Friday as the new Lawrence County High School principal, Myram Brady isn’t a stranger to the school serving as assistant principal for the past two years.

Mrs. Brady, a Lawrence County native was selected through the process devised by the state which includes the Site Based Decision Making Committee and Supt. Dr. Rob Fletcher sent out the word of her selection last Friday on Twitter.

She takes over from Christy Moore, who will serve as a “teacher coach” among other duties for the system, Fletcher said. Moore has been at the school for the past eight years.

New LCHS Principal Myram Brady was gracious enough to submit a background and some interesting comments:

“…I am very excited to be able to have been offered and accepted the position of Lawrence County High School Principal. I was born and raised in Lawrence County and have resided here my entire life.

I have been married for 17 years to a supportive husband, Ryan Brady, who is a dental hygienist in Wayne, WV. We have two children, Ryland and Aubrey, both in the Lawrence County school system. I have been blessed to have been raised by strong leaders in my family, my church, Louisa Free Will Baptist, and educators in the school system, and I hope to bring that leadership into this position. Mrs. Moore had a strong partnership with the community and school families. I want to build on those partnerships and continue to benefit the students of Lawrence County.”

“…I went through the Lawrence County School system graduating with honors in 2000. After graduation, I stayed in Louisa and worked at Louisa West with AmeriCorps, tutoring students during the day and at Fallsburg Elementary working 21st Century after school activities while I commuted to ACTC, Morehead State University, and the University of Pikeville for college. I graduated from Morehead State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s in elementary education with a component in math and accepted the position of special education teacher in the fall at Fallsburg Elementary. That fall, I started the MAT program to complete my Masters of Arts and Teaching degree and Rank I in special education, graduating in 2007.”

“…I taught special education for seven years and then transitioned to a classroom teaching math 3rd– 6th for six years. During this time, I enrolled at Asbury University and earned another Masters in administration and curriculum, as well as, an educational specialist degree.”

“…In 2016, I accepted a position as freshman coordinator at Lawrence County High School. In 2020, I accepted the vice principal position, which included heading the career and technical education at Lawrence County High School. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career in education. I truly enjoy helping the students and families as well as working with the community.”

Until the test scores are down, then she’s out.

Just a small note/edit. Christy Moore has been at LCHS a lot longer than 8 years. She was my freshman Algebra teacher and I graduated in 2003
