LOUISA, Ky. — The 2022 May Primary election will look different than previous years as the state legislature’s changes take effect including voting taking place on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the courthouse prior to election day on May 17.

County Clerk Chris Jobe has had a tough time getting the sample ballot from Frankfort thanks to all the redistricting and last minute changes. But, for this year at least, the picken’s are slim on both sides of the ticket with only the U.S. Senator race with candidates in the Spring.

The GOP side has more candidates, especially after the remaining Democrat office office holders in Lawrence County switched parties. With races for county judge/executive, county attorney, and surveyor, countywide – and two contested magisterial districts out of four and one race for Constable included.

For the first time in recent history both the sheriff and jailer in Lawrence are running unopposed in either party. Jobe and PVA Chris Rose, both Republicans,  are unopposed throughout the election this year as well.

Here is the official sample ballot as released by Jobe this week.
