“As President of New Day in Fort Gay, the group that owns FGHS, I can assure you we are dedicated & committed to this project. This has been a while coming but it’s now happening & will definitely be an asset for our community,” Hatfield said. “I have always been very passionate about this beautiful building and it sure was a great Christmas present to receive this funding.”

A new roof will be the first thing asap. Then in spring, construction will begin, she added.

“I have been on this project since the beginning which was started in 2012,” Hatfield said. “Not only is the building beautiful itself, but so is the school lawn and that’s where most everything takes place that happens within our little town.”

“I am a 1975 graduate of Fort Gay high school and I have always loved the building and the lawn and it holds memories for most everyone connected to Fort Gay in some way or another.”

no stupid ft gay is part of louisa

          • Citizen says:

Last time I checked, Fort Gay was in West Virginia, across the river from Louisa, which is in Kentucky.

  4. KAG says:

thrs a bridge on that river DA

    • Citizen says:

The bridge doesn’t make Fort Gay a part of Louisa, idiot. Do you not understand that Louisa is in Kentucky, which is one state, and Fort Gay is in West Virginia, which is a totally different state? Fort gay is in WV. Louisa is in KY. Louisa does not pay WV taxes. Fort Gay does not pay KY taxes. The people who live in Fort Gay are citizens of West Virginia. Folks from Louisa are citizens of Kentucky. You are an idiot from Kentucky, not West Virginia.
