Dustin Doyle and David Clinger, representatives of the Rowan County Veterans Museum visited Lawrence County Friday, August 9, 2024 to present a plaque in honor of Fred M. Vinson for dedication to saving the Naval program at Morehead State University in the 1940’s when he was a Representative.

“If not for Vinson’s efforts Morehead State would have suffered greatly in losing the Naval program ,” Clinger said.

“This is a story I had never heard before, it was very interesting because I didn’t know there was a Naval program at Morehead,” County Clerk Chris Jobe said. “We had a very good visit with the two gentlemen and feel like we can work together on future projects.”
