MINGO COUNTY OUTLAW TRIO WANTED IN CONNECTION TO ROBBERY IN WEST VIRGINIA, GETS TAKEN DOWN IN MARTIN COUNTY, KY

TWO WOMEN AND ONE MAN APPREHENDED IN CASE SPANNING THREE COUNTIES IN TWO STATES

GROUNDED: TRIO FROM WEST VIRGINIA TAKEN DOWN BY LAW ENFORCEMENT IN MARTIN COUNTY

A trio of bandits found themselves in major trouble in three neighboring counties in two states on both sides of the Tug Fork River on Wednesday

Three people from Mingo, West Virginia wanted in connection with a robbery in Wayne County, West Virginia, were arrested Wednesday evening, June 24, in Martin County, Kentucky.

According to a press release from the Martin County Sheriff Department, Sheriff John H. Kirk said his department received a call from deputies in Mingo County, West Virginia, about a vehicle that was connected to a robbery in Wayne County.

There was no information about the Wayne County robbery case that was released in the statement by Sheriff Kirk at this time.

Sheriff Kirk stated he sent his deputies out to make a traffic stop. The three people in the car are facing charges in Martin County related to the traffic stop. Charges in connection to the robbery in Wayne County are still pending.

According to Sheriff Kirk, the driver of the fugitive vehicle, Amy Lynn Blankenship, 39, of Williamson, West Virginia, was charged with:

• OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, and

• CARELESS DRIVING. Amy Blankenship was also charged with:

• FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED; in connection to the Wayne County robbery case.

One of the passengers, Ailisa Hendericks, 22, of Williamson, West Virginia, was charged with:

• CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF FORGED INSTRUMENT 1ST DEGREE (IDENTIFY); in connection of having counterfeit money in her possession.

The third person in the car, Cecil Ray Diamond, 39, of Williamson, West Virginia, was charged with:

• GIVING OFFICER FALSE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, and

• SERVING BENCH WARRANTS FOR COURT. Cecil Diamond was also charged with:

• FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED; in connection also to the Wayne County robbery case.

Martin County Sheriff Department deputy David Adams was named as the arresting officer of all three suspects in the case.

The case remains under investigation by police agencies in Kentucky and West Virginia at this time.
