No parking allowed along the street during the project’s duration

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 14, 2021) – Milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.on Monday, Oct. 18, on Locke Avenue (KY 2566) in the city limits of Louisa in Lawrence County. Doug Wright, P.E., District 12 section engineer for Lawrence County, said that the work will continue through Wednesday, Oct. 20, weather permitting. The work may extend past Wednesday if weather becomes an issue.  The work zone area will extend along Locke Avenue from KY 3 at Madison Street to KY 3 at the Food City Plaza.  During the milling and paving operations, one-lane traffic will be maintained and will alternate directions during operations. Emergency vehicles and school buses will be  accommodated when needed.

No parking will be permitted within the work zone area along Locke Avenue.  Even though Locke Avenue will not be closed during the project, drivers should expect long delays and traffic is advised to use alternate routes.

‘‘The roadway changes are necessary for the contractor, Mountain Enterprises, Inc., to begin the milling and paving operations on this section of roadway.   As long as the weather cooperates, this operation should not take more than two to three days and will complete the work on this project, ” Wright said.
