Cody Branham has been the bass player in the Kentucky Opry Band since 2007. He is a product of the Jr. Pro program, as he was the bass player for them throughout the early 2000’s.

Cody was born in Lexington, KY and now resides in Prestonsburg, KY. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Morehead State University.

Cody has been playing music for 15 years and is proficient on the electric guitar and piano, too. He has played throughout the region with bands such as Southern Storm, Breakaway, and Full House Band, and has toured with country music superstar Dustin Lynch.

Cody currently stays busy playing classic rock with The Sons of FM and Thoze Guyz. He states that his musical influences are “all of the great eastern Kentucky musicians.” Cody says, “there’s so much talent around here and so many great musicians to learn from.” He says his favorite part of playing in the Kentucky Opry is “the musicianship and the opportunity to perform at a beautiful theater in my hometown each week.”

*  This is Part 4 of Meet Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry. Look for more bios each week throughout Spring and Summer. Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry Summer Season opens Saturday June 17 at the Mountain Arts Center.
