Mary N. Peters joined her family in Heaven on November 6, 2023.

Mary was born February 15, 1938, daughter of the late Clarence and Nealya (Boggs) Bartram. She is survived by her husband John Jarrett Peters, having been married 64 years. Additional survivors include daughters Lisa (Jack) Diamond and Sherra (Steve) Landry; son Rodney (Mary Lou) Peters; 6 grandchildren Josh and Zack Diamond, Chelsea and B. Jacob Peters, and Sophia and Thomas Landry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son John D. Peters “Petey” on July 18, 2022.

Mary attended Fort Gay High School and graduated from Wayne High School in 1957. She worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. and Oklahoma. She established, owned, and operated Penny Pinchers Fabric Store in Fort Gay. She was talented in many ways. She was an excellent artist and sewed many beautiful clothes.

At her request, the viewing will be private. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Rev. Lewis G. Peters Cemetery, behind Peters Chapel on Rt 52 in Fort Gay, with Pastor Lynnwood Campbell officiating.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Peters and her family.
