Mary Emma Wellman Lemaster Ferguson

1930 – 2016 

Mary Emma Wellman Lemaster Ferguson, 86, of Fort Gay, WV went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa.

She was born on August 29, 1930 to the late Wayne and Clementine Dawson-Wellman.

Mary retired after more than 20 years as a school cook in Cabell County where she was known for putting her heart into everything.

Mrs. Ferguson was a longtime member of Grace Gospel Church in Huntington and Fort Gay First Baptist Church. 

Mary dedicated her life to caring for those around her. No matter what struggle life dealt her she met it with strength and love that was felt by all who knew her. She was a mother to more than just her children; she impacted the lives of her niece, nephew, grandchildren as well as the lives of many school children in Cabell County. She touched so many lives an taught us so much that will live on for generations.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands Everett Lemaster and JB Ferguson; one son Harold William Lemaster and one sister Loretta Britt.

Surviving is a loving family including three sons David (Colleen) Lemaster of Fort Gay, WV, Steve (Donna) Lemaster of Aurora, CO, Michael (Kaye) Ferguson of Kenova, WV; six grandchildren Emily (Drew) Hinchman, Jason Black, Ryan (Jennifer) Lemaster, William (Michelle) Lemaster, Sean Ferguson and Chloe (Jake) Isaacs; one niece Betsy Britt; one nephew Chuck Britt and six great grandchildren as well as many friends and extended family members all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be under the direction of Young Funeral Home and be held at the Fort Gay First Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 with Pastor Tim Preston officiating. Burial will follow at the Wellman Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
