MARTIN COUNTY MOTHER CHARGED WITH STABBING 4 MONTH-OLD DURING THANKSGIVING

4-month-old baby allegedly stabbed by Kentucky mother during Thanksgiving gathering

A Martin County mother was charged on Thanksgiving after she was accused of stabbing her 4-month-old son, according to Kentucky State Police.

KATHERINE STEPP

The baby’s mother, 38-year-old Katherine Stepp of Tomahawk, faces assault, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and public intoxication charges. Stepp remained jailed Wednesday on a $10,000 cash bond and was ordered not to have any contact with the baby.

The baby was taken to Highlands Medical Center in Prestonsburg, state police said.

Family members told state police trooper Shane Jacobs that Stepp and her boyfriend showed up to a Thanksgiving gathering at a house in Prestonsburg intoxicated. Stepp allegedly “got the baby” and took him outside to her boyfriend, state police said.

Stepp’s brother Adam Porter told state police that he saw his sister and her boyfriend arguing over the baby, which the brother called “typical,” according to an arrest citation. Stepp’s stepfather, Gregory Lilly, and mother, Katherine Lilly, said the boyfriend was rubbing something on the baby’s face, and the mother was trying to stop him and started arguing, according to court records.

Lilly said Stepp retrieved the baby “and was yelling for everyone to get back, stating everyone was trying to kill her baby,” according to the arrest citation. A stab wound on the baby’s right calf was then observed by family members, who said the baby was bleeding, police said.

When emergency medical services arrived, Stepp was yelling and saying they were trying to kill her baby and pulling on him, the arrest citation said. Stepp initially didn’t allow the emergency crew to treat her son, but eventually, the baby was transported to the hospital, police said.

When Jacobs began interviewing Stepp, she “became combative and started kicking my windows yelling and screaming,” according to the arrest citation.

Jacobs said he “was advised the family was fighting over” the child.

Wow! Really? A baby gets stabbed and you make political. You must be a republican because you are heartless and probably a boomer to boot.

The truth hurts, but yes, democrats do support the “legal” version of murdering babies.

Wow, I’m Democrat and I don’t kill babies…dumbass people using someone so tragic to bring politics or trump into the conversation. I am originally from Martin County and meth has hit Martin County so badly that it doesn’t matter what your political views are, it’s not right.
I know that Martin County and Kentucky within itself is a republican state, that does not mean that I have to agree with those views.
I personally do not ask anyone to agree with mine but for someone to make a comment as crazy and broad as to say that Democrats killed children.
I think that you guys need to stop talking about politics and worry about what the hell is going on in this state since it is a Republic state… Since Kentucky is a state with the majority being Republican, i’m sure the lady who stabbed the baby was Republican.
Keep political views out of child abuse and drug abuse problems in areas such as my home town…let’s try and clean that crap up..
Who cares if you are a Democrat or Republican when it comes to a baby being stabbed by its own mother.
What in the hell is wrong with you people??!!

Hows that coal revival that Trump promised working for you?
Have you figured out that it’s the natural gas prices that did the industry in?
He coming after your food stamps but I’m sure you will find someone other than him to blame.

This brings to mind something that I came to realize recently.

“A liberal can not be a Christian.”

As liberals, we support and push for abortion rights, homosexuality, and other things that the Bible frowns upon and that Christians disagree with. So as liberals, we can not also be Christians.

This doesn’t mean that because Trump and many Republicans are not liberal, they do not have bad morals. They certainly do. This doesn’t mean that all conservatives are Christians. I’m just pointing out that liberals can not be Christians.
