MARTIN COUNTY GRAND JURY INDICTS FIVE ON MULTIPLE COUNTS

INEZ, KY. — The Martin County Grand Jury met November 2 and returned five indictments with two being bail jumping.

 

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. William Patrick

 

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before October 25, 2023, in Martin Co, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

 

  1. William Patrick committed the offense of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by possessing a Taurus brand 9mm caliber handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony.

  2. William Patrick committed the offense of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by possessing a Smith and Wesson brand AR-15 semi automatic rifle after having been previously convicted of a felony.

  3. William Patrick committed the offense of unlawful transaction with a minor in the third degree by knowingly induced, assisting or causing a minor to engage in any other criminal activity, namely tampering with physical evidence.

 

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Scottie Thompson 

 

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before July 2, 2023, in Martin Co, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

 

  1. Scottie Thompson committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. Scottie Thompson committed the offense of possession/use of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully in possession of a syringe.

 

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Ariel Carver

 

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before August 11, 2023, in Martin Co, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

 

  1. Ariel Carver committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Methamphetamine.

  2. Ariel Carver committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the third degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a schedule V controlled substance, Gabapentin.

  3. Ariel Carver committed the offense of possession/use of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of an altered glass pipe.

  4. Ariel Carver committed the offense of endangering the welfare of a minor by knowingly and unlawfully being a parent, guardian or person legally charged with the care or custody of a minor and failing or refusing to exercise diligence in the control of such child to prevent that child from becoming a neglected, dependent, or delinquent child.

  5. Ariel Carver committed the offense of possession of Marijuana by knowingly or unlawfully possessing Marijuana.

 

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Keith Wiley 

 

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before August 17, 2023, in Martin Co, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Keith Wiley committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail, upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge.

 

Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Gladys Maynard 

 

The Grand Jury charges: That on or before September 7, 2023, in Martin Co, Kentucky, and before the finding of the indictment herein, the above-named defendant:

  1. Gladys Maynard  committed the offense of bail jumping in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court with or without bail, upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge.
