Martin County Grand Jury meets on April 7 and issues several indictments.

 

Commonwealth vs. Jamie Jarrett

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 26, 2021 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

 

  1. Jamie Jarrett committed the offense of theft by unlawful taking over $1000.00 under $10000.00 by knowingly and unlawfully taking two (2) catalytic converters from a car belonging to Joe Allen Evans on Inez, Ky with the value of the items taken at $3063.00

 

Commonwealth vs. Dwayne Elmer Crum

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before February 3, 2022 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

 

  1. Dwayne Crum committed the offense of trafficking in a controlled substance in the second (2nd) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance and distributing and supplying less than ten (10) dosage units of Suboxone of that control substance to another, namely Suboxone.

  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of possession/use of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of two (2) syringes.

  3. The above named defendant committed the offense of possession of controlled substance not in the proper container by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, namely Suboxone, not in the properly administered container.

 

Commonwealth vs. Karen Cornette 

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 29, 2021 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

 

  1. Karen Cornette committed the offense of theft of identity by knowingly and unlawfully possessing or using former or current identifying information of another, namely Michelle Jude of Inez, Ky, with the intent to represent herself as Michelle Jude, to avoid detection.

  2. The above named defendant committed the offense of license to be in possession by knowingly and unlawfully operating a motor vehicle upon a Ky roadway without a proper drivers license.

 

Commonwealth vs. Scott Marcum

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before February 22, 2022 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

 

  1. Scott Marcum committed the offense of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by possessing a .9m caliber Taurus brand handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony Martin Circuit Court.

 

Commonwealth vs. Scott Marcum

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before February 22, 2022 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

  1. Scott Marcum committed the offense of receiving stolen property (firearm) by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a Taurus brand .9m caliber handgun reported as stolen from Angela Newsome of Inez, Ky.

  2. Scott Marcum, having been charged in the instant indictment with the above stated felony count (s) is now being charged as a persistent felony offender.

 

Commonwealth vs. Cory Ferrell

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before February , 2022 in Martin County, Ky the above named defendant:

 

  1. Cory Ferrell committed the offense of bail jumping in the first (1st) degree by knowingly and unlawfully having been released from custody by the court, with or without bail, upon condition that he/she will subsequently appear at a specified time and place in connection with a felony charge he/she failed to appear at that time and place as ordered by the court, namely an Pre-trial Hearing.
