MARTIN COUNTY GRAND JURY HANDS DOWN CHARGES OF STRANGULATION, DRUGS, ASSAULT OF DEPUTY

INEZ, KY. — A Martin County grand jury issued numerous indictments on November 4, 2022. Among the charges are Christopher Marcum and Adam Maynard both being charged with assault in the third degree by attempting to assault Deputy David Adams with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, while acting in the capacity of his office.

 

Here is a list of the indictments handed down:

 

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Billy Perry

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 8, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Billy Perry committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Asiaa Meeks
The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 3, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Asiaa Meeks committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. James Harless 
The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 11, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:
1. James Harless committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine, with a prior conviction.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Christopher Marcum  
The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 25, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Christopher Marcum committed the offense of assault in the third degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting or attempting to assault Deputy David Adams with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, while acting in the capacity of his office.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Adam Maynard  

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 19, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Adam Maynard  committed the offense of assault in the third degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting or attempting to assault Deputy David Adams with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, while acting in the capacity of his office.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Jeremy Harmon  
The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 25, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Jeremy Harmon committed the offense of strangulation by intentionally, without consent, impedes the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of anohter, applying pressure to the throat or neck of another, or by blocking the nose or mouth of another person, namely Cora White.

2. Jeremy Harmon committed the offense of assault in the fourth degree by knowingly and unlawfully physically assaulting Desiree Scott.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Lonnie Jude 

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 12, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:
1. Lonnie Jude committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.
Commonwealth of Ky vs. Charlene Carter  
The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 20, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:
1. Charlene Carter committed teh  offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Christopher Marcum 

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 12, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:
1. Christopher Marcum  committed teh  offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Christopher Maynard  

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before September 13, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:
1. Christopher Maynard  committed the  offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Blake Spaulding  

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before October 8, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. Blake Spaulding committed the offense of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by possessing a .22 caliber Heritage Arms brand handgun after having been previously convicted of a felony.

2. Blake Spaulding committed the offense of public intoxication by knowingly and unlawfully being manifestly under the influence of a controlled substance to the degree he may endanger himself or other persons or property, or unreasonable annoy persons in his vicinity.

 

Commonwealth of Ky vs. Kenneth Mollette

 

The Grand Jury charges that on or before August 16, 2022 in Martin County, Ky, the above named defendant:

 

1. On August 16, 2022, Kenneth Mollette committed the offense of assault in the first degree when he intentionally caused serious physical injury to Jason Fields, by means of a deadly instrument.
