NOVEMBER 5 – written by WADE QUEEN

The Kentucky State Police #9 in Pikeville are investigating a fatal vehicle crash that happened early Sunday evening in Martin County.

It happened just after 6 P.M. Sunday on KY Route 645  near Inez .

Accrding to the KSP,  early Sunday evening, Martin County 911 received a call about a single car crash on KY Route 645 close to Inez.

Troopers say that the driver, who was identified as Michael Ferrell, 56, of Boonescamp, KY. was driving a 2003 Ford F250 and was traveling southbound on Ky. Route 645 when Ferrell lost control and veered off the southbound shoulder. Ferrell tried to regain control when he apparently attempted a sharp turn to regain control of the truck, buck instead over-corrected.

Ferrell’s truck traveled and went off the roadway, striking an embankment. The truck then overturned and Ferrell was ejected.

Michael Ferrell was transported to Highlands Regional Hospital in Prestonsburg in Floyd County, where he was pronounced dead due to the injury’s he sustained in the crash.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as for the cause of the wreck at this time.
