INEZ, Ky. — In a rematch of the 2020 15th Region Title game the outcome was the same as Martin Co. ( 4-4 ) sprinted to a 79-50 victory over Lawrence Co.( 4-3 ) Tuesday night at Home.

After a very tight first quarter Martin Co. led 15-14 and then the Cardinals turned up the heat and started bombing three pointers and outscored the Dawgs 64-36 the rest of the way for the lopsided victory.

Cody Maynard led the Bulldogs with 19 points, Trenton Adkins finished with 14 points, Baden Gillispie netted 9 points, Kaden Gillispie chipped in with 6 points.
Lawrence Co. hit 4 three pointers and went 8 of 15 from the foul line.

Brady Dingess led five Cards in double figures with 23 points including 3 three pointers, Luke Hale hit 3 three pointers for 13 points, Cameron Dials 11 points including 3 three pointers, Jacob Butcher 11 points, Parker Davis tallied 10 points Jordan Dalton 8 points and Ricky Ferris 3 points.
Martin Co. hit 14 three pointers and went 7 of 12 from the foul line.

Martin Co. will return to action on Monday at Rose Hill Christian and then Wednesday in the WYMT Mountain Classic versus Hazard at 8:30.

“…It was a rough night all around, their shots fell and ours didn’t. Not making any excuse, they beat us in every facet of the game. You have to give them all of the credit in the world. We gave up a ton of three pointers again which has been a theme for us all year. We tried man, we tried zone, we tried a little bit of everything and nothing worked for us tonight.”
“… We will get back at it and see if we can get some stuff corrected going into February.”
