PAIR CAUGHT AFTER DRIVERS REPORT VEHICLE OBSTRUCTING ROADWAY

A Magoffin County couple were arrested after officers caught them with drugs in their vehicle after they were investigating why their automobile was parked partially in the roadway.

According to a press release report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, two people were arrested Monday morning September 17 after Paintsville/Johnson County 911 received several calls reporting that a vehicle was sitting partially in the road on KY 1750 in Johnson Co.

When Johnson County deputies arrived at the scene and stated they stopped to check out the vehicle parked across the fog line on Route 1750., they found the male driver and a female passenger inside the car allegedly with drugs and other contraband. The total makeup of items seized were two bags of suspected drugs, an electronic scale and a stolen handgun

The driver, who was identified as 35 year old Alvin Ratliff Jr., and the passenger, identified as 25 year old Alexandria Cole, who both were from Salyersville, Kentucky.

Alexandria Cole and Alvin Ratliff were arrested by deputy Bill Meade at 9:42 A.M and were each charged with:

• TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE),

• RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY (FIREARM),

• DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS

The pair was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, where they are still being held.

While Ms. Cole has only a small criminal record, Alvin Ratliff Jr. has now been arrested 18 times on 34 charges since June 2003 in Morgan, Johnson, and Breathitt counties,

    I sure don’t see how Alexandria Cole has a small criminal record. Actually, I’m surprised she’s alive. Whatever she can stick, snort smoke or swallow… that’s right up her alley. Literally, that was her nickname.

    We all knew she would turn out like this. sorriest excuses for humans that’s ever walked the earth!
