Mabel Geneva Wheeler, 83, of Manassas, VA went home to be with our Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Geneva was born on April 16, 1940 at Cherokee, KY. Geneva was the daughter of the late Elmer and Opal Alexander of Cherokee.

Geneva was a graduate of Blaine High School. She married the late Ronald Lyon and had a son, Ronald. Geneva would later marry Marion “Junior” Wheeler and have a daughter Karen. Geneva and Junior raised their two children together.

Geneva created a loving home for her family, but kept close ties with her family in Kentucky. Geneva enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, fishing, and cooking. She took great joy in providing meals for her family and friends.

Geneva is preceded in death by her husband Junior Wheeler. She is survived by three siblings Mary Knipp, Phyllis Rowena Morris, and Paul (June) ALexander, all of Grayson, KY; two children Ronald Lyon of Manassas, VA and Karen (Jeff) Pearson of Bealton, VA; two grandchildren Ashley (Steve) Blevins of Amisville, VA and Bryce Pearson of Water View, VA; five great grandchildren Shayne, Ryan, Grayson, Nora and Ryker, whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Boggs and Ronnie Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Alexander Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 11:00 AM until time of service at Cherokee Freewill Baptist Church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Wheeler and her family.
