NIGHT TO SHINE
Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. On one night, February 10, churches from around the world host ‘Night to Shine’ for thousands of honored guests.
The Louisa United Methodist Church honored the tradition and hosted the event (party) for our local special needs citizens on Friday February 10, 2017. It was a huge success with over 83 special needs individuals and over 240 volunteers. It was certainly something to watch from the limo ride to the dance floor.
The event was sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, Three Rivers Medical Center, the Louisa Rotary Club, United REntals of Huntington, Rebel Barn, City of Louisa, For Cakes Sake, Hometown Florist, Kentucky Farm Bureau, Joe Young Insurance, Shirt Gallery, Farmhouse Memories, Betsy Lynn Photography, and Fly with Dee Photography along with several special members of the Community of Lawrence Co. Ky.
Mitch Castle, the event organizer and the DJ for the evening, stated with tears in his eyes, ” It was such a blessing for me last year to attend the event in Huntington that we thought we could do a good job in Louisa” Castle said. “We’ve been planning this for about 4 months and the community has come together. God is Blessing US.”
Castle is the Youth Director at the Louisa United Methodist Church. The Night to Shine event was a huge success. It was an honor to attend and watch the happiness on everyone’s face. The rooms were full of beautiful ladies and gents with their dates for the evening. It made this heart smile and even a few tears fell on my face.
