The Louisa Rotary Club met on Thursday, August 10th at the First Baptist Church like they do most every week. The meeting began with lunch, a prayer for our community, the Pledge of Allegiance and reciting the clubs Four Way Test.

President Chris Jobe made announcements for the week including:

*  Having had a board meeting the day before and some decisions to be considered by the club.

*  Jobe sent around a sign-up sheet for Septemberfest activities while explaining how well the auction had gone this year. He announced that they were still doing the number figuring, and that they would announce as soon as they had the total amount of money raised. They also announced that many of the items sold during the auction still needed to be picked up.

*  With a few more things being hashed out among the club, Jobe announced the speaker for the week, Cheryl Spriggs.

Rotary and for the first time both district governors in Kentucky are women.”

Overall, it was an uplifting and empowering speech focused on how the Rotarians of the community are so important and how making a difference is a perfect theme for this year.

Mrs. Spriggs said she had visited 19 clubs in a very short period of time and how Louisa was always one of her favorites.
