INCIDENT HAS CITY AND COUNTY RESIDENTS ON EDGE AND ALERT

Louisa area residents are on alert after local police officials reported of an attempted child abduction early Friday evening.
According to a public service emergency alert announcement by the Louisa Police Department, on Friday, June 25, 2021, at around 5:15 P.M., the Louisa Police Department responded to a report of an attempted child abduction in the area of Gene Wilson Boulevard.
 
The description of the attempted kidnapping suspect was reported to have been a man, of an average build, brown hair, facial hair around the mouth area, and wearing blue jeans and a black long sleeve shirt.
 
The Louisa Police Department is asking people who live in and around the Gene Wilson Boulevard area to review their security surveillance footage.
 
Anyone with information regarding this case investigation or that may have been in the area of Gene Wilson Boulevard near Lawrence County High School during this time is asked to contact the Louisa Police Department at 606-638- 4058, or the Lawrence County 911 Center’s non-emergency line at 606-638-4851.
