7th and 8th grade teams both win Conference Tournament championships

WURTLAND, KY. — After coming up short last season in the OVC Girls basketball tourney the Louisa Middle basketball team wasn’t going to be denied this season as the 7th and 8th Grade teams brought back titles to Louisa.

2018 OVC 8th Grade Champs

Louisa 54 Elliott Co. 25 ( 8th )

In the championship game the Lady Bulldogs avengers an earlier loss to the Lady Lions and captured the title.

LMS, which finished 22-3 on the year, was led by Brook Neal 25 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Kensley Feltner had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. Kaison Ward 2 points 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Emilea Preece with 4 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Shelby Blevins 2 points and 1 rebound. Emmalee Holt with 3 points and 1 assist.

2018 OVC 7th Grade Champs

 

Louisa 28 Elliott Co. 12 ( 7th )

In the 7th Grade game it was a dominating performance for the Lady Bulldogs.

LMS 7th, which finished 20-5 and went undefeated against OVC competition was led by Emilea Preece 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 7 steals.

Kaison Ward  scored 10 points with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Sophie Adkins 2 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Abby Maynard 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Laynie York 1 steal.
