A former employee of a hospital in northeastern Kentucky admitted stealing more than $700,000 worth of medical and office supplies from the facility and re-selling the merchandise online, according to court records.

Hudnall

Lashea Nicole Hudnall, 36, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Ashland to one charge of mail fraud, based on receiving hundreds of payments electronically, according to court records.

Hudnall was director of materials management for Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa. In that role, she was in a position to order supplies for the hospital, according to the court record.

Hudnall acknowledged in her plea agreement that between January 2014 and August 2019, she took medical supplies such as harmonic scalpels and shears and office equipment that included colored ink printer cartridges and sold them on platforms such as eBay and Mercari. Hudnall sold items to buyers in the U.S. and China. She stole and re-sold at least $781,699 worth of supplies, according to court documents.

Hudnall is scheduled to be sentenced in June. The maximum sentence would be 20 years in prison.

There should be a mandatory 10 year sentence for stupidity as well.
People do this stuff once and get away with it, and the next thing you know they’ve got a full fledged criminal operation going.
Big Blue motors owner comes to mind as he was just sentenced to prison, and the Hogan’s also come to mind after being charged with stealing tax money.
Even someone as dumb as me can look at these cases and conclude that it’s a no brainer that eventually you’re gonna get caught.
Greed makes people do stupid things.

Why did she have to steal? According to her, she was paid copious amounts of money each month by the federal government just for being “part Indian”. Her words, not mine. Looks like she’ll be going to the crossbar teepee for a while.

Good. She’s a crappy human being and walks around with a chip on her shoulder. Bragged about her cars and her luxury filled lifestyle. -yawn-

Oh how a bunch of the mighty have fallen. I remember a day some of the afore mentioned would not take even 5 minutes out of their day to speak to people who helped them get their high paying jobs. Maybe they were ashamed to look their “friends” in the eye.

  6. Keeping it Real says:

One Dr. got away with it a few years back. Why not cash in. He was stealing from Medicare.

  7. AJ says:

She should get the full 20 years and it might deter someone else from doing it. This wasn’t a penny-ante crime. Almost 3/4 million dollars. She deserves the max and big time restitution.

Didn’t she do this at a bank too?
