Mark my words today! The people of Louisa will deeply regret letting the city enter into an agreement/franchise with any one cable company. You still have a little time, but it is clear you will do nothing. All you have on your minds is whose dogs shit where and other stupidity. When you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. The government loves sheep, and you are herded well. I’m very ashamed the Lazer didn’t get involved, seems like a good media source otherwise. You will live it, I already do.

      Trump loves his sheep more

You are a prime example of what I said KAG.

Well said. It’s all about whose pockets get filled. Right Mr. Mayor, your business was being foreclosed on and all of a sudden it’s not. The people of Louisa know who bailed you out. It’s a you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours city. Our forefathers would be ashamed.

      • Charles says:

Sadly John, all cities tend to fit the description you gave to some degree. Until people realize they are the ones who actually run the government, things will remain as they are…everywhere.

Charles did you use to work at the new court house?
Like as a security guard. Just wondering.

Since there are at least 3 of you now, I’ll take a chance? 🙂 I was a city policeman, twice a deputy sheriff and a chief of police, none in Louisa. However I did take breath test training with a Louisa PD Sgt, he had red hair, I cant recall his name? Never a security guard!

      • KAG says:

sounds a lot like what Donald is doing with Ukraine(going to hold up this aid until you investigate my political opponent)

Charles, I appreciate your emotion on this issue, but why don’t you explain to us, and you have the floor unless the Lazer refuses to publish – and I’m sure they’d let you say whatever given what is already posted here, what you are talking about. You mention politics and games and call people names, so what is the issue; explain it to us; I’d like to hear, especially since most every other city in America has franchises and there aren’t any major issues (or issues with allowing others as federal law changed the utility regulatory requirements many years ago). I’m truly interested in what you have to say as long as it isn’t name-calling or just ranting to get people worked up if there is no issue, seems we see that enough on the national political stage. Just sayin….

    • Charles says:

OK Homer that’s fair enough. I’m sorry for using stupid, and could have been more precise with uncaring perhaps. I left that area in 1996, I moved to east TN. I was never a security guard anywhere but was a KY cop for a good number of years(for whom ever ask). When I moved to my current location we had 3 cable companies to choose from. The price on average was about $9 per month for basic cable. Our county mayor and commission (TN version of Judge magistrate or Judge commission). Our county government for reasons known only to them, since it was fine the way it was. The reasons were never made clear, and no one (myself included) cared. To make a long story short, basic cable now cost $120 per month, and there is no other choice! That is a roughly 250% increase. Now how would you like if your cable bill went up 250% and you had no alternative? I love my people Homer and they are buried all over that area. I was simply trying to help and nothing more. Does that answer your question? One more thing, what would be the purpose for Louisa to give business to one company, and force competitors out, and see what your own thoughts tell you? Good day.

      • Charles says:

One more question Homer, and please just the truth. Are you a member of Louisa city government, elected, employee or appointed official? That is not an accusation of anything, just curious.

      • KAG says:

ever hear of satellite or streaming or just put up a antenna

        KAG

I’m glad its the real you my friend. I was in the political arena for a long time, and yes I do know a good deal about how politics work. Its far more scary than average people know. I do try to help, not try to stir stuff up; as has been implied. I love Louisa and LC, always did, I have thought of returning to KY? I doubt it now, since my wife has MS. I kinda had LC on my mind…but oh well? I was born in Johnson County (don’t hold that against me), As a young man I crossed the old steel toll bridge to go to ‘Fatman and Millies’ a number of times(no a bunch) to drink 3.2 beer and play pool. Wow, those were the days! Stayed more than once in that motel on the back street in Louisa. All that is gone now, on both sides of the river. Time marches on….and not for the better( my opinion), we cant live in Mayberry forever can we? 🙂

Thank you my friend, I did think you were a bit older, perhaps because you display intellect beyond your years. Hey that gives me new faith in younger people! After KAG, it was lacking. 🙂 I don’t know how many stories I am full of, but folks always told me I was ‘full of it’! They were probably referring to stories? 🙂 I’ll be back tomorrow, I’m curious if Homer has anything to add?

  6. Charles says:

KAG, did I say dish, direct tv or streaming? I said 3 CABLE COMPANIES! Direct tv wasn’t around then, a dish cost $799, and streaming hadn’t been invented, hell the internet was barely off the ground in 1996. Now let me give you a paraphrased quote from a great man I’m sure you never heard of!

A person who wont read, has nothing on a person who cant read.
    Mark Twain.

    • KAG says:

residential satellite has been around since the 70’s hint C BAND
the consumer internet was around since the early 80’s hint BBS
maybe you should understand what you read like I have always said you can read all the time but if you don’t understand what you have read then you are waisting your time

      • Charles says:

The World Wide Web became publicly available on August 6 1991. Its creator, the now internationally known Tim Berners-Lee. The average consumer couldn’t afford it. Cable systems paid $10,000 to install 3-meter dishes to receive TV signals in C-band. That was 1975, and was NOT available to the public, except cable subscribers! It included NBC, CBS and ABC. The first dishes available (the HUGE ones) cost $3500-$5000 that was in the early 80’s I had one. So you had a few things correct, but misrepresented them. Whether you intentionally lied, I don’t know. However I have an AS, BA and MA, and understand what I read quite well KAG. Just try me on any subject my friend!

        • KAG says:

          you forgot the BS

          KAG

          • Charles says:

I saved that for you! 🙂

Homer I’ve waited long enough, you can catch me on another site.
