Over 100 spectators came out to Pullman Square Marquee Cinema in Huntington, W.Va. on Thursday  (6/8/2017) for the premiere of the locally made short film Afflicted Dawn: Redemption.

Community members seated to view the filmWhat started out as a novel by author Gregory Napier soon came to life with the help of film director Joe Robertson, with local actor Cody Cheyenne Napier (who played the lead role of Nicholas Ford).

The film is a first person perspective of an apocalyptic zombie human attack of the future. The lead character’s struggle to survive the afflicted and searching for other survivors is the theme of the film.

Other cast members consist of:  Justin Prince, Joshua Powers, Makinna Prince, Boyd Smith, and behind the scenes crew with Jim Smith, Demi Napier, Brandon Ward and Tammy Napier.

Kickstarter pledges for the film’s budget and support of the community brought this film from start to finish and to view on the big screen. With continued support the hopes for a sequel will be in the future.
