V.I.P. COMPANY PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION FOR UP TO 250 PEOPLE THOUSANDS OF MILES PER WEEK WITH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HANDICAPS, NO PERSONAL AUTOMOBILES TO GO TO DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS & MEDICAL FACILITIES IN KENTUCKY, WEST VIRGINIA, OHIO

A local medical taxi transportation company, who specialize in taking folks who live in Lawrence County who are unable to go their doctor appointments or medical treatments because they do not own an automobile (or have one that is mechanically incapacitated), or have physical or mental disabilities that prevent them from driving, dove deep in their pockets to give back to their customers the true meaning of the Christmas season by giving a grand Christmas dinner for them to show their appreciation to the less fortunate people who have chosen to trust in routinely using their services.
V.I.P. Transportation., of Louisa, provides medical transport to patients who need to travel to a wide range medical treatments at various doctor offices and medical facilities or hospitals through a large area of our region, but cannot get themselves their due various hardships.
V.I.P. is owned by Pamela J. Isaac, who was also until recently one of the drivers until having to be temporarily sidelined by eye surgeries. The company is a family owned and run business. The drivers include her son James C. Isaac, and his fiance’ Bree. Other drivers are Rick Sloane and his son Joshua Sloane. Occasionally if they are stretched thin, a couple of Mrs. Isaac ‘s daughters will come as back-up drivers.
V.I.P. usually transport around 200 to 250 people a week, 5 days, sometimes 6 days a week, even a few times on Sundays, thousands of miles a week, to medical destinations, mostly in Louisa and our Tri-State regional area, but sometimes they run several times a week to Lexington to UK medical facilities and even medical trips as far away as Louisville and Cincinnati. (The longest recorded medical trip for V.I.P. is to Cleveland, Ohio)!
To show gratitude for those individuals who use VIP, Isaac and her family invited customers and their families of the company to a free Christmas dinner at the downtown Louisa Senior Citizen Center on Tuesday evening, December 6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
50 to 60 people attended the VIP Christmas dinner.
V.I.P even transported several people who were wanting to come but had a hardship that left them unable to personally come to the dinner. Other customers came via the Northeast Kentucky Community Action Agency public transportation bus service.
For all those who came, they were treated to fine quality food cooked on par as a top of the line Christmas or Thanksgiving type meals, along with delicious and wonderful desserts. Soda drinks and bottled water were served.
Everyone had a good time at the dinner gathering, enjoying the great meals, with most who attended not only eating one or more full plates of dinner and desserts, but also taking home additional aluminum foil wrapped plates for themselves and their families.

V.I.P. does not take any cash for any of the medical trips. Instead they are paid by a portion of the patients’ health insurance that is arranged by brokerage from LKLP Inc. out of Hazard, Kentucky, which is a private, non-profit corporation that provides a variety of services, and who handle the scheduling arrangements for not only VIP in Louisa, but also numerous medical taxi companies in 47 counties in eastern and southern Kentucky. LKLP makes it possible for transit services to be covered by medical cards.
However, to be eligible to qualify to use VIP or any medical transport agency associated with LKLP, a person must be Medicaid, Department For The Blind and Vocational Rehabilitation recipients/participants residing in the following counties:
Region 4: Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson
Region 5: Adair, Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Green, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, Taylor, Warren
Region 9: Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton
Region 13: Breathitt, Clay, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Owsley, Perry Wolfe
Region 15: Bath, Boyd, Carter, Elliot, Greenup, Lawrence, Menifee, Morgan, Rowan

Recipients who need to schedule transportation services should contact us during our normal office hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm and Saturday from 8:00am – 1:00pm local time. All trips not considered “urgent care” must be scheduled 72 hours in advance After hours paging is available, including Sundays and State Holidays, for immediate or “urgent care” transportation.
