LMS BASKETBALL HAS TWO NEW COACHES THIS SEASON

Louisa, Ky. — Middle School Basketball in Louisa has a couple of new coaches and the folks around the Bulldog program are excited as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams kicked off their regular season this past week with two games. All three teams have some talent which should lead to an exciting season.

Last Monday the Dawgs traveled to Fairview and came away with 2 wins.

Fairview 48 Louisa 31 ( 8th Grade )

The Eagles held the Dawgs to 12 points in the first half and went one to win this one by double digits. Trenton Adkins led the Bulldogs with 12 points, Bryce Blevins tallied 8 points, Brody Diamond chipped in with 5 points, Adam Scaggs and Will Dillow had 3 points each. LMS hit 4 three pointers and went 7-12 from the charity stripe.

The LMS 8th graders are 1-1 on the young season.

Louisa 51 Fairview 41 ( 7th Grade )

The Dawgs came away with a double digit victory to open the season. Kaden Gillispie poured in 19 points to lead LMS, Lawson Baisden had 14 points, Abner Collinsworth tallied 11 points, Dylan Ferguson scored 5 points, Dylan Whitt chipped in with 2 points. The Bulldogs went 7-13 from the charity stripe.

The LMS 7th graders are 2-0 on the young season.

Louisa 49 Fairview 16 ( 6th Grade )

The Dawgs pounded the Eagles in the first game of the evening. Sam Lefever tallied 12 points, Conner Ward chipped in with 9 points, Wyatt Branham, Ethan Perry, Talon Pollock, and Dalton Runyons had 6 points each. Myles Preston and Blake Maynard had 2 points apiece. LMS hit 1 three pointer and went 4-6 from the line.

The LMS 6th Graders are 1-1 on the young season.

On Thursday night in the home opener for the Bulldogs they won 2 out of three games vs Raceland.

Louisa 40 Raceland 37 ( 8th Grade )

In a great game it was LMS pulling out the victory in the last seconds. Adam Scaggs was high scorer with 10 points including 2 three pointers, Trenton Adkins chipped in with 7 points, Will Dillow also hit 2 three pointers for 6 points, Bryce Blevins tallied 5 points, Mason Preston had 4 points, Zach Holt 3 points and Parker Preece hit a three pointer for his points, Tyler Bowens had 2 points. LMS hit 5 three pointers and went 7-9 from the line.

Louisa 44 Raceland 18 ( 7th Grade )

The 7th Grade Dawgs move to 2-0 after routing the Rams. Lawson Baisden had 14 points for high scorer, Kaden Gillispie tallied 13 points, Dylan Ferguson chipped in with 8 points, Jake Derifield 5 points, Matthew Clevenger and Luke Parsley had 2 points each. LMS hit 1 three pointer and went 3-7 from the charity stripe.

Raceland 37 Louisa 25 ( 6th Grade )

LMS 6th Grade lost for the first time this season in the home opener. Wyatt Branham had 11 points, Blake Maynard and Dalton Runyons had 5 each, Talon Pollock finished with 4 points. The Dawgs hit 1 three pointer and went 1-3 from the line.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… I feel like our basketball program has so much potential. All 3 teams have a ton of talent this year. Last week’s games were our first of the season so we had some growing pains, but overall we looked pretty good.

“…Me and Coach Ratcliffe are super proud of all the hard work and effort these kids give for us. We have a great group of young men and we look forward to an awesome season. We encourage everyone to come out and support these boys this year.”
