LC’S TYLER MAYNARD WINS ’15TH REGION SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR’ AWARD

GIRLS SOCCER AND VOLLEYBALL ALSO REPRESENTED FOR LAWRENCE CO.

LOUISA, KY — Lawrence Co. was well represented in the 15th Region this fall with members on the Girls and Boys Soccer team along with Volleyball as well.

Bulldog Junior Tyler Maynard was named 15TH Region Boys Soccer Player of the Year

Bulldog Junior Tyler Maynard was named Region Boys Soccer player of the year for his outstanding play in the first season for Lawrence Co. as the Dawgs won the 58th District before losing in the Region tournament to eventual Champion Prestonsburg.

Maynard was also named to the KHSSCA East Honorable Mention All State team.

Freshman Luke Johnson and Junior Luke Cassell were named to the first team all Region.

Freshman S.J. Lycans and Junior Alex Ratliff were named to the second team.

Freshman Logan Southers and Junior Briyce Brooks were named Honorable Mention.

On the Girls side Lawrence Co. was well represented after winning the 58th District for the 8th straight year and 15th Region title before falling in the first round of the state tournament to Russell.

Seniors Kylie Maynard and Zayla Granillo along with Junior Sarah Lycans, Sophomore Ellie Webb and Junior Goal Keeper Ally Moore all were named to the 15th Region first team.

Sarah Lycans made 2nd team all state and 1st team 15th Region this season.

Lycans was also named to the 2nd Team All State Team.

Junior Hayleah Fletcher, Senior Jordan Stepp and Senior
Emily Webb were named to the second team all 15th Region team.

Seniors Sheree Hay and
Lydia Workman were chosen for Honorable Mention.

VolleyDawg Standout Lexie Workman made the 15th Region All Tourney Team.

For the time in School history Lawrence Co. was represented on the 15th All Region Volleyball team as Senior Lexie Workman led her team to a school record in victories and a spot in the 15th Region tournament for the first time before losing to Pikeville.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… It was a great season and it’s nice for the boys to get recognized by the 15th region coaches. This says a lot about these individuals and their teammates. The fact that all these boys will be back with us is very exciting. We had another accomplishment to celebrate this week as Tyler was named to the All State East Honorable Mention team.”

“… To have 10 girls make all region really shows how hard this group of girls worked this season. They ALL came to practice everyday ready and willing to make themselves better. This is a great group of girls that represent LC on and off the field very well. To say that I am proud of them is an understatement.”
