COACH’S COMMENTS

“… It’s been a good week of basketball. We played a tough Shelby valley team on Tuesday. We had a rough second quarter after Brooke Neal went down again with a knee injury. We are praying for good results on Monday. I was proud of our girls and how they battled and competed throughout that game. We had players step up when we needed it. We still didn’t get the outcome we wanted but learned a lot… had to play through some adversity that helped us during the last 2 games of the week.

“…Prestonsburg was our first district win and it’s always a tough place to play them. Prestonsburg played extremely hard and gave us fits all night. We had a good 4th quarter and was able to escape with a win.”

“… Friday nights game with Pike Co. Central and we faced another team who played hard but we were able to withstand their run and win the game. I’m proud of our girls for how they battled and competed all week with all the adversity we faced after losing Brooke Neal. We are hoping and praying she’ll be back with us soon.”

“… We will hit the hardwood again on Monday against one of the top teams in the 14th region, Letcher County Central. Then play Jenkins on Tuesday. We appreciate everyone who has come out and supported us. We appreciate it so much. Looking forward to another great week.”
