LCHS CELEBRATES VETERANS DAY

(Friday, November 12th 2016) Yesterday,  the students at LCHS celebrated Veterans Day.

Lawrence County Veterans, Veterand Day 2016

Members of the VFW visited and along with the  Lawrence Co. JROTC they put on a heartfelt ceremony. The VFW have visited each school in the county explaining why this day is so important.

Don Wolfe, Commander of the VFW (see video) joined with other counties in the nation with bringing a contest to the students of Lawrence County. 2nd place winner was Shelby Taylor, Miss Taylor won a check of $50.00.

The 1st place winner of the essay was Isabella Handley, Miss Handley won a check for $100.00. Her essay will move on, and the 1st place in the nation will win a $30,000 scholarship. (WATCH VIDEO)

Most of the celebration was captured on video, no pictures could do it justice. In honor of all men and women who are actively serving and those who have served in the past, Thank You for your sacrifice. I want to also thank the family members of those who serve as well, for without their support, none of this would be possible.
