2016 Boys Middle School soccer 8th graders; L to R Evan Rawlings, Trey Brumfield, Tanner Castle

Louisa, Ky. —  The Boys middle school soccer team in Lawrence Co. defeated Chesapeake 5-3 Thursday night at the LC soccer complex. It was 8th Grade Night for the Dawgs as they honored Trey Brumfield, Tanner Castle and Evan Rawlings.

With the win LC finished the season at 5-5-2 with the losses coming to undefeated Ashland three times and Ironton St. Joe out of Ohio twice. The Dawgs picked up two wins over Ashland Holy Family, one apiece over Rock Hill, South Point and Chesapeake. They also tied South Point 1-1 and Chesapeake 5-5.

Lawrence Co. has some talent coming back in 2017 with the likes of Luke Johnson, Blake Maynard, SJ Lycans, Joey Moore, Logan Southers, Will Dillow, Trenton and Rayson Adkins.

Middle School Head Coach Scott Johnson

COACH’S COMMENT

“… I knew coming into this season it was going to be a rebuilding year. Our team had only three returning starters from last season plus we only had one returning 8th grader in Evan Rawlings with middle school soccer experience.” That forced us to rely heavily on a 7th Grade group that had many new faces and big shoes to fill from last year’s team.” This group improved tremendously throughout the last couple months and with a large group of returning players in 2017, it should be an exciting season next year.”
