Gov. Beshear Sounds Alarm on COVID-19 Surge, Reports 2,700 New Cases

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2020) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear warned every Kentuckian that they must take the pandemic more seriously in order to protect themselves, their families and their community. Kentuckians are in significantly greater danger of contracting COVID-19 now than they were in March or April; on Wednesday, the Governor reported 2,700 new cases, the state’s highest ever daily total. In addition, the positivity rate has increased to 8.12%, the highest it has been since May 5.

“This entire state is in danger. COVID-19 is absolutely everywhere. We need everybody to wear your masks and follow red zone reduction recommendations and school recommendations. It is a must if you want to lessen the impact in your community,” said Gov. Beshear.

On Veterans Day, the Governor also thanked veterans “for their service to this country and to this commonwealth.” He continued, “We are deeply, deeply grateful.”

Finally, Gov. Beshear updated Kentuckians on the Brent Spence Bridge.

“Our Transportation Cabinet is utilizing unmanned aerial systems equipment to aid in the inspection of the structure so we can do that safely, determine the amount of damage and start to get to work on repairs,” said Gov. Beshear. “The debris is the obstacle for inspections to begin; the bridge’s temperature is no longer the obstacle.” To see the full release about the early morning crash and fire on the bridge, click here.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will post updates about the bridge here.

A shame Lawrence county trying to cover this up. There are more than reported.

Right above it says 1-77yro lawrence woman died. Then just a few lines below the health department says no deaths. Which is it? It’s hard to trust these agencies and the state government when you get such conflicting info a few lines apart. Masks aren’t going to make this go away. I know people in lawrence county who wore masks religiously and still caught the virus. The vaccines aren’t going to make it go away. Until the population builds up an immunity to the virus its going to remain. Even once that happens it will still be here just not as deadly.

We were also sort of confused by the numbers, Jeremy. Maybe it will be on there today.

sounds like your normal Hoople Head
mask is about the only tool we got that’s in the toolbox
where did you get your medical degree ? Trump University
overwhelming doctors and scientist says to wear a mask
      so where’s your degree ?

      • Jeremy says:

So your saying if we just wear a mask no more covid? Magically masks will make it disappear? Kag your first thing is rudeness and name calling. I said mask wearing or no mask wearing, vaccine or no vaccine, it’s still going to be here. The flu is still here, colds, HIV, etc. What makes you think Joe Biden getting elected will make it go away? Btw Trump University sounds much better than the socialist, anti-constitutionalist, un-American Democrat party and leftist Universities we have today.

Can’t get Mr. Trump off you mind, can you KAG? You mention him in every comment you make. He controls you.

        Might as well….

I agree with that Jeremy. The people of Alaska when first encountered by Europeans had no immunity to the common cold (also a coronavirus), they died by the thousands, eventually they built an immunity, now they are now as able to deal with a cold as you and I. How long it will take us to build an immunity to Covid-19, I have no clue?

Who knows really how many cases LC has. 18 cases was reported on the 10th!!

How are these pharmacies catching the virus and they wear gloves and mask?!

And school shouldn’t reopen. The superintendent is a joke!!

No school No sports! Simple as that!!

It’s all about the football… All In.

  5. Healthcare Worker says:

Unfortunately, we are not going to build an immunity against this. In studies of people who have had this virus and were tested after 3 months they had no titers in their blood. This means no immunity. Plus it is mutating very fast. This is man made and out of control. We need to stay home when possible. Stay home if sick or have a temp. Masks keep others from getting your germs. You can have this without knowing it.

    • Jeremy says:

I read somewhere the virus has mutated 249+ times. So the question is how are these vaccines 90%+ effective? Against what strain? If the antibodies are gone in 3mo then is the vaccine going to be effective longer than that? The best effective vaccine rate for the flu is 39%. No matter what, it is likely that this virus will be with us forever now. Similar to how the flu is. I do wonder if this is man made? If so then the WHO, the news, and our govt is lying. They say it was a natural spread from Bats. Would like to know what leads you to believe its a man made virus? (I think it was a man altered virus).

  6. KAG says:

if you want to know about your herd immunity look no farther than Sweden
as far as mask stopping the virus that’s not what i said but it’s the only protection we have
you need to ask for a refund on your Trump University degrre
