1,300 Lawrence Co. arrests in past 18 months

Matthew Caudill Matthew R. Caudill, 33, of Louisa, was arrested on October 4, 2016, at 3:57 A.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/ DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE, • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.

Matthew Caudill’s most recent arrest marks the 17th time he has been arrested, on a total of 32 criminal charges in Lawrence, Boyd, and Johnson counties, since February 27, 2004.

In just the last 5 months, Caudill has been arrested 6 times in Lawrence County, on multiple drug charges. He was arrested three different times for possession of meth, twice in May, and again in July (along with numerous traffic citations). Caudill was arrested twice in August, both times for public intoxication, with the second of those arrests leading to being charged on two counts of possession of cocaine. In his most recent arrest yesterday, Caudill was caught in possession of as yet unknown type of prescription pills.

Caudill’s newest arrest marks another milestone, albeit a temporary benchmark, in it is the 1,000th time someone with a Louisa residential address only, has been arrested in either Lawrence County, or a different Kentucky county, since March 10, 2015.

If you were to add Lawrence County residents who have seperate address listings from around the county (Webbville, Lomansville, Blaine, Martha, and Ulysses), who have also been arrested in that same time period; that number is likely reaching around 1300.
