Public Health Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Dental Health

LCHD Commissioners Award

The Lawrence County Health Department recently received the Kentucky Department for Public Health Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Dental Health in recognition of the implementation of a Public Health Registered Dental Hygiene Team.

The award was presented at Kentucky Public Health Association’s Annual Conference in Owensboro by Kraig Humbaugh, M.D., MPH, Senior Deputy Commissioner.

Pictured are the Smile Savers Team – Rhonda Colllins, Public Health Registered Dental Hygienist and Jessie Wellman, Certified Dental Assistant.

Smile Savers Dental Hygiene Program was implemented in March 2015 and provides preventive dental hygiene services in the school setting.
