LAWRENCE GRAND JURY INDICTS WEST FOR FIRST DEGREE SEXUAL ABUSE OF CHILD UNDER 12

The Lawrence County Grand Jury issued several indictments on September 8.  A variety of charges from possession of drugs, assault, forging checks,  and sexual assault charges.

Commonwealth vs. Jason Maynard

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about June 18, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Jason Maynard acting alone or in complicity with Allison Perry committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

2. Jason Maynard acting alone or in complicity with Allison Perry committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a pipe, baggies, syringes, an altered straw, an altered spoon, and scales.

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about June 18, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Allison Perry acting alone or in complicity with Jason Maynard  committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

2. Allison Perry  acting alone or in complicity with Jason Maynard committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a pipe, baggies, syringes, an altered straw, an altered spoon, and scales.

Commonwealth vs. Robert Cyrus 

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about June 8, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Robert Cyrus committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

2. Robert Cyrus committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a pipe.

3. Robert Cyrus committed the offense of possession of drug paraphernalia by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, Pregablin.

4. The above named defendant committed the offense of possession of Marijuana by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of Marijuana.

5. The above named defendant committed the offense of prescription not in proper container by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance not in proper container as administered.

Commonwealth vs. Eddie Chadwell

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about July 2,, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Eddie Chadwell committed the offense of theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 (auto) by knowingly and unlawfully taking a 1991 Chevrolet Pickup truck owned by David Sell of Martha, Ky with a value exceeding $1,000.

Commonwealth vs. Brandon Marcum 

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about September 2, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Brandon Marcum committed the offense of possession of a controlled substance in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully being in possession of a controlled substance, Methamphetamine.

2. Brandon Marcum committed the offense of tampering with physical evidence by knowingly and unlawfully destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against her/him in an official proceeding

Commonwealth vs. Ashley  Cox

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about August 15, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Ashley Cox acting alone or in complicity with James Barker committed the offense of theft by deception greater than  $1,000 but less than $10,000 by knowingly and unlawfully obtaining property, services or monies from Kelly Brothers of Louisa, Ky by issuing or passing a check for payment of $2,544 knowing it will not be honored by the drawee.

Commonwealth vs. James Barker

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about August 15, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. James Barker  acting alone or in complicity with Ashley Cox  committed the offense of theft by deception greater than  $1,000 but less than $10,000 by knowingly and unlawfully obtaining property, services or monies from Kelly Brothers of Louisa, Ky by issuing or passing a check for payment of $2544 knowing it will not be honored by the drawee.

Commonwealth vs. Herbert Fletcher 

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about August 5, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Herbert Fletcher committed the offense of assault in the first degree by intentionally causing serious physical injury to another person, namely Kelley Fletcher, by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

Commonwealth vs. Clayton Murphy III

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about April 18, 2022 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Clayton Murphy III committed the offense of assault in the second degree when he intentionally caused physical injury to Vickie Vanhorn of Louisa, Ky by means of dangerous instruments (hands and feet).

Commonwealth vs. Eddie West 

The Grand Jury charges that on, from, or about September 1 2017 through December 31, 2017 in Lawrence Co, Ky  the above named defendant:

1. Eddie West committed the offense of sexual abuse in the first degree by knowingly and unlawfully committing an offense against a vulnerable victim in a continuing course of conduct by subjection with a minor less than twelve years of age, to sexual contact two or more times between September 1 and December 31, 2017.
