LOUISA, Ky. — The weather isn’t the only thing that has been dry this week as news reports were scarce in the region with local and regional news outlets scrambling to fill space.

Clerk says $560,000 still owed by delinquent taxpayers
Lawrence County Clerk Chris Jobe reported the amount of taxes still owed from last year.
“Tax collection seems to be going good,” Jobe said. “The sale is Oct. 15th 2019 at 10:00 am. We have around $560,000 still unpaid for all districts combined.
Clerk announces bid requests for bridge construction
County collected huge number of old tires in cleanup effort
From Judge/Exec. Phillip Carter’s office:
The number of old tires collected this year in the three days allotted was 2,907!
The large number is great news since much of the old rubber would have most likely ended up on roadsides and streams in the state’s most beautiful county.
Sheriff says Community Impact program a big success

Thanks to all the partners that were able to participate: Lawrence County Food Bank, Health Net, Safe Harbor of Northeast KY, ARC, Ray of Hope, Louisa Police Department, Lawrence County Constable Association, and Chase (Paw Patrol),” Sheriff Chuck Jackson said on his Facebook page today (Thursday).
