LOUISA, Ky. — The LC Middle School Bulldogs faced the reigning state champion Belfry Pirates on Thursday for their first scrimmage of the year.

The Bulldogs held Belfry to just a few first downs and the defense racked up 5 sacks against the Pirates. The offensive line was dominant with the Bulldogs racking up over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.  The passing game went 7-10 with over 150 yards and one touchdown through the air. There were no sacks or QB hurries.  The offensive line is led by Ethan Preece, Chandler Preece, Cameron Castle, Colbie Prince, Cameron Vanhoose, and Hayden Thomas.

The Bulldogs will face off with Greenup County next Saturday at Russell for their final scrimmage.

Coach’s Quote

Quote from the coach Tom Frazier:

“Super proud of our kids, parents, administration, and staff. To go out and perform like that against a great opponent is a testament to the work we have done since last season.  But… it’s a scrimmage, we have a long way to go, and a lot of goals left to accomplish. I’ve been coaching a while and I have never seen a core group of kids and coaches that are this committed to our program. The support from the middle school administration (Mrs. Sammons, Mr. Short and Mrs. Meek) has been awesome. The sky is the limit, and I can’t wait to see how we continue to improve.”
