LOUISVILLE, Ky. – June 29, 2023 — Lawrence County Lady Dawgs 8u All-Star softball team competed in the Ohio Valley Regional tournament in Louisville, KY last Thursday in hopes of coming home with a Regional championship title.

Despite battling the rain for three days, they fought to the end with a 4-3 win over Fern Creek Black, which was a game that lasted until 2am that morning due to rain delays. That win landed them a spot in the championship game against Fern Creek Orange.
The girls came home with a regional runner up title, due to the championship game being canceled for rain.
They are the first LC 8u softball team to have made it to the championship game of a regional tournament.
